The shovel head is made of hardened #1065 carbon steel, with 1.8 mm thickness and 15cm * 20cm size, one of the biggest you can find among camping shovels. We quench forged 1065 steel sheet to around HRC 60, and then further temper it to HRC 49-53 for better toughness.
